Aftermarket parts are fantastic, trust us, we would know. But have you ever heard of an OEM upgrade? That means the stock producer of an item released a better version. The golf cart industry is no exception to this rule. When the Precedent model was released, it came with a 250-amp controller, which you can still get from your local dealer. However, Club Car quickly realized anything sub 300 amps would not cut it even on the golf course, and so was born the IQ 350-Amp Curtis Controller. One hundred additional amps in the same small package.
Customers complained about the throttle not hitting hard enough. So, Club Car gave them a hammer of a controller as a response. If you are going to do something, you better do it right; that's why choosing Curtis as the producer was a no-brainer. From stock performance to high output units, no other manufacturer comes close to their level of quality. Buggies Unlimited is committed to making your golf cart perform the way you want it to; call us today for help deciding if this Club Car DS / Precedent IQ 350-Amp Curtis Controller is suitable for you!
This is controller is a very simple install. It's pretty much plug and play. I only had to modify 1 or 2 plugs, but the ones I needed were supplied with the harness I bought
We used this model controller on an obsolete system (1997 DS model). Had to get a wiring harness as well from Buggies Unlimited because converting to this. No programing needed. Works great.
It doesn’t replace it. It is an upgrade to make your cart faster but it also puts more wear on your motor which could cost you in the long run.
Not certain if this controller is better then my last. Both gave me a speed of 19 miles an hour. This one definitely provides more torque and faster hill climbing than the factory original.
It depends on the type of motor that you are using. I would call buggy’s unlimited and ask them what type of controller would be best for the motor you have. Just have the info of the motor and cart and they should take great care of you. Everything I purchased from them was exactly what was needed. Hope this helps.
This was a direct fit for my cart club car precedent. It was a while ago but I believe all just plug and play
Yes, it looks like it is a direct replacement from that original part number you provided.
I honestly don't know the answer. I do know that I also purchased a new motor and my cart runs between 23 to 26 MPH now.
Not at all - just connect the wires and you will be ready to go.
I had that same model number 250 amp unit in my 2002 club car and this 350 amp controller fit and worked great and improved uphill performance too.
