The Yamaha Stop Switch for select G models is what every other manufacturer calls an accelerator pedal microswitch. Yamaha, for some reason, had to have a different name and an over-engineered product to do the same job. This is a plunger-style switch that helps route the activation voltage through to the solenoid. This is one of the switches that must click in before the solenoid has what it needs to do the same thing. So without it, your caddie will not run. Club Car and EZGO both use a tiny micro-switch to do the same job so if you have worked on those models in the past, keep in mind this will look different.
This aftermarket golf cart stop switch will look identical to the one that came off the cart. Even though it's a replacement, we make it to the exact same spec as the OEM product. There is no reason to wait; give Buggies Unlimited a call and get yours on order today.
It could be but to be sure take up your floor plate and take a voltmeter and check the wires where they go to the switch. Push the pedal and see if you get 12 volt on both wires on the switch . If you do the switch is good. Then I would take your generator/starter off and take it to a electric motor shop and have them check it out. Usually it will need brushes and cleaned up. Hopefully nothing else is bad in it. Also check all battery cables and make sure they are clean. Good Luck I hope this helps .
Not that I’m aware of
Lift up the rubber “floor mat” and near the gas and brake pedal there is a metal plate, under the metal plate you will find the stop switch mounted near the hinging portion of the brake pedal.
I have a gas one but it seems like it would be more of a mechanical connection to the handle that controls FWD or REV.
It can be, I have had a switch that would stop working after it warmed up some. Mostly when it is hot
outside. If you know someone who has a cart like yours try that switch to see if it solves your issue.
Good luck.
It might. I have a gas G29 that would intermittently cut off. I bypassed the throttle switch mentioned above. It ran perfect. Bought a new switch and it solved the issue. It is an easy installation. I just don’t know much about the 48v carts.
Ours was the opposite of yours..it wouldn't go..there is a relay on top of the transmission that could be sticking too.. check your throttle linkage too...that runs the speed of your engine..
It could be the switch but they’ll have to test the voltage on the pedal switch Enter an answer to this question.
There is a little switch by the pedal under the floor boards. Check that. The internal parts can break and jam the switch.
Had similar problems and found connection on solinold needed repair .wire inside insulation was broken .replaced eyelite conecter on solinold and found wire inside broke and at times runs fine and at times won't do anything.
