How do I remove & install Speed control?

The copper end goes to bottom of the controller that has a plastic sleeve it fits into.. there's a nut on back side that hold sit the the controller loosen that an it will come out..
The other end connects to the hot side of solenoid switch at the top of controller..

Does any one know how to remove a broken copper wiper from the tube, or can you send me a manual showing how to replace this part, on 1977 EZgo, I'm at a loss now, the part would not slide out of tube, forced it, broken in side tube. how do i get the tube off unit to drill out something, can I order new tube? thanks,

I apologize, these older carts are not ones we get to service very often so this is not a process I am familiar with.

I appreciate the help, but are we talking about 1977 ez go cart, I unbolted sensor, it won't slip out, new one is not threaded on back side, all I have now is the tube fastened to the moving accelerator arm, & an old broken copper thing in the tube, help, please?

I had the same problem the copper thing is burnt on the end at the contacts. You have to remove the accelerator switch & probably have to replace it also because of burnt contacts, It's a pain but the only way to go.
