Cart Subtotal:
The E-Z-GO Medalist and TXT Drive Belt are vital to the overall performance of your golf cart. We know what you are thinking. "No joke, the caddie would not run without it." That is a correct assumption. The drive belt transfers the energy created by the engine to the rear tires by connecting and putting tension on the primary and secondary clutches. As the primary spins up and closes thanks to centrifugal force, it causes the belt to be pulled down into the secondary clutch. This creates tension, spins the gears in the differential, and transfers the power to the wheels. Without it, your front clutch would rotate as the engine runs, but you would sit as still as a stone.
When the golf cart drive belt starts to wear out, you will lose performance. The first thing that goes is the torque. When the belt thins, it will bark at you like a dog when you start to take off and anytime you try to climb a hill. Eventually, it will get to the point that it just barks and does not move, just like the family pet in front of a picture window. Call Buggies Unlimited and get one ordered today.

I’m not a pro but my 1999 EZ go Workhorse used this belt. I have been using it for a year and still works great
You should get a new belt for the squeal. New aiir filter, old one may not be getting enough air threw it. Its starving for air. Change spark plugs. Then u should be good. That's what I had to do. You didn't need to get a new battery.
Length and width would be nice to post on the description
No advice to give mine did not fit either, ended up at local auto parts who had same original belt , so like you I threw money out the window
