Product Details

I bet you didn't know that your golf cart was a hybrid. For all intents and purposes, all gas-powered cars are; they just are not efficiently using electricity. Not to mention that 12-volts is not enough for what you need to do. However, you can be the dude who knows a useless fact at your next block party. Who are we kidding? We love being that person. What is it that makes this argument even possible? The EZGO AMD Nidec Starter Generator is the electric motor that starts your engine. Then once the engine is running, this part acts as a generator to charge the battery. That sounds like a hybrid to us. As long as you have the Robins engine, this motor will work fantastically.

This golf cart starter is just like the one that came off of your caddie. It is an aftermarket replacement, however. We make it to a better spec than the OEM sop you can expect longer and better performance. Call Buggies Unlimited today.

Great replacement
The belt for the unit was 34 inch if you had a Robins motor but my Briggs 18 Hp required a 33 inch belt

The Poli provide it on the unit was much smaller then the existing. Consequently, could not adjust belt tension with unit has provided. I have no idea why this would’ve changed causing this trouble. Is it because my EZGO has a Kawasaki engine?

Buy the OEM! May be more, but it’s worth it...
Took a whole 20 minutes to take the old one off, and put the new one on! Fired right up! I’m running a 1998 EZ Go gas cart.

Starter generator
Works great. There are cheaper ones out there but my experience with most replacement parts is cheaper normally won’t hold up. Time will tell.

is regulator needed with this starter?

You must run a voltage regulator! The starter generator is capable of putting out almost 20v! That would blow your battery up quickly! The voltage regulator drops that volatge to a safe re-charge rate o 14-15v. http://www.buggiesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=6153

I have a 2005 ezgo st350 when driving it dies and the battery goes dead and the starter gen is very hot have replaced both voltage regulator and starter gen it seems like there is voltage going to the starter from the solenoid after the engine is running thus draining the battery, is the solenoid faulty?
Will this fit a 1993 EZGO Workhorse 4 cycle Robbins engine?  The part number in the manual is 25533-G2?

This product works great with one slight modification. The mounting bolt holes are undersize and require drilling or reaming for the bolt to fit.

Will the AMD Nidec Starter Generator - For E-Z-GO 4-Cycle (Fits 1993-2010) put out enough voltage at standing idle to maintain my charge on my ST350 Sport Golfcart?

I do not have a spec sheet, this should wrk fine for the ST-350 assuming it is not a key start car.

What is the difference between the nidel and reliance starter generators? Do you have voltage and amperage specs for both?
Will it fit a Kawasaki engines ?
