The reed valve on your coach has come a long way from its origins. The first of their kind was no more than a leather flap over a hole. What this item actually does is prevent the backflow of fuel. Another way to look at it is it only allows gas to pass through it in one direction. It's a fancy name for a check valve. If the E-Z-GO Reed Valve Gasket that mounts to it goes wonky, it will fail just as quickly as if it went faulty itself. These are parts that have to be checked at least yearly. It all comes down to how much you use it. This is not a failure you want to let go of, as a faulty gasket can damage the reed valve. Not a big deal, except the valves themselves is no longer available. This golf cart gasket is a part of a larger rebuild kit which we highly recommend. Chances are if you are having issues with this E-Z-GO gasket, others will follow it. Call buggies Unlimited and get everything you need today.
