The Club Car Gas Rear Shock is a part that makes things ride smoother. On your cart, the weight of the cat is supported by leaf springs. The shocks are considered dampeners. What that means is they do not provide an outward resistance for weight support. They have an outward and inward resistance used to soften the bounciness the leaf springs can employ under regular operation. They are fascinating little units, you can easily collapse and expand them by hand. They will stay in whatever position you leave them.
The time to replace a golf cart shock is not when the suspension is sagging. As mentioned before, the Club Car shocks do not support any of the caddie's weight.
