The soft-serve machine at the local buffet was a mixture of a lot of our childhoods. You had all of this beautiful food in front of you! You could pick anything from pizza or fried chicken to steak. It would go into the inside of the hollow gearbox input shaft to take up space at the end of the motor shaft. It did not apply on my 1998 48v DS with GE motor. If installed and not originally there the motor will lock up when tightened to the gearbox.
