The microswitches on your golf cart are critical components. Most of the time, they are used in the activation circuit of the buggy. This refers to the system of checks and balances that the cart uses as a safety feature to ensure everything is working before it puts power through to the motor or engine. Things like turning the key switch are one of the steps in the process. You have the accelerator pedal switch and a forward and reverse micro switch that also contributes to the process. There are actually three switches on the forward and reverse switch, one for the solenoid activation, one for half speed reverse, and one that activates the reverse buzzer.
