Cart Subtotal:
Your series-powered EZGO has a substantial copper contacted forward and reverse switch. This is the method that the golf cart uses for flopping the polarity at the motor, allowing it to spin in the opposite direction. The button itself is under the seat, over on the passenger side, and has a plastic cover over the top. Once that is removed, you are going to see two large E-Z-GO Forward and Reverse Micro-Switches. These are the activation and reverse buzzer units. The latter is self-explanatory, but the former may need a slight descriptive pause. Your golf cart uses several switches to activate the solenoid. Your key control, accelerator pedal micro switch, and one of these forward and reverse micro switches. If any of those fail, the solenoid will not get power, and if that happens, nothing will run.
Get a golf cart forward and reverse micro switch coming for your caddie soon so you can get back on the road and let others know you are backing out. All you need to do is call Buggies Unlimited and get an order booked today.
The polarity does not matter in this case if that was your question. However, the points at which you wire it to do matter. If I recall correctly the middle point is the neutral and the other two points are swapped whether you want it open or closed at rest. Meaning when the arm is at the resting position one set will allow current and one will not and this will swap when you press the arm down.
I don't think you need to change anything. I think you just need to adjust the switch over a lil bitor even the handle. Make sure the bushings are there to much slack will do that.
Hope this helps you out!!!
yes it will
Depending on the year, there would be two of the switches, one triggers the back up alarm and the other is a part of the activation circuit that provides positive power to the solenoid.
