This Buggies Unlimited OEM replacement part has been developed to meet or even exceed the manufacturer's original equipment specifications.
I am not familiar with the above unit but on my older harley davidson the switch activates a solenoid which then put the 36 volts to the motor. It is only effective at full pedal to close the switch.
i guess i didn't get the point across, yes the switch will work for your machine but your problem more than likely is in your selector switch for forward and reverse. the contact bolts maybe corroded or glazed over or even loose, it's not the hardest job but you need to remove , clean , and reassemble the switch making sure all your connections are clean aand tight. we work on carts all the time and with your symptoms thats the first place we start
all this switch does is engage the starter alternator when you push down on the accelerator if your engines turning over then it is not the switch

No plate, goes in a hole on the frame underneath the bell. The bell triggers the switch when the gas pedal is pushed.
No that is just a solinoid switch on off presure switch
