Can I replace the fuel tank myself?Of course, with the correct replacement tank and basic tools, installation can be done simply at home.
Do I need to replace the hardware when upgrading the tank?It is recommended. Using a new gasket or straps, can help ensure a proper seal with your new tank.
What else should I inspect when replacing my fuel tank?When replacing a fuel tank it’s a good idea to inspect all rubber fuel lines for cracking, swelling and flexibility. Fuel lines should be soft and pliable. Fuel lines that have become stiff are at risk of cracking which could lead to a leak and a fire. It’s also a good idea to replace the fuel filter and sending unit when you replace your tank.
