We have all been there; you think the battery is defective because nothing happens when you push the pedal, so you replace it with no luck. The next choice was probably that suspect cable, or it could have been the solenoid. Chances are there were a few more steps you took we may have missed, but your path of troubleshooting has led you here. The Starter Generator For your Club Car is a natural step in that progression. Those added benefit of replacing everything leading up to it is just icing on the cake. Once this motor gets installed, you will be ready to run for sure.
This Starter is for the newer Club Car models that come equipped from the OEM with a Suburu. If you have something else like a Kawasaki, this is not the motor for you. Assuming you have the proper engine, call Buggies Unlimited without delay and get one coming to your door as soon as you can.
No, I took pictures of the old one for the wiring replacement, the terminals are marked with letters, use masking tape wrapped around the wire with the terminal numbers on them and match them up with the new one, the hardest part is getting the old starter/generator out.
We have been buying a starter every year since we have owned this cart best price I could find for the part we needed with Subaru Engine
This starter generator has a one-year warranty.
It fit our 2016 club car with Subaru ex40 & worked perfectly.if yours bad be sure & check voltage regulator...affects a lot of moving parts...
2 thoughts.
1. check "forward" micro switch. Sometimes removing and just spray cleaning w/contact cleaner works.
2. check solenoid.
my experience in a salt air, dirt road environment (caribbean) was mostly removing and cleaning the micro switch.
good luck
