Product Details

Golf carts get used for way more than what the OEM intended. EZGO had no idea you would be using your TXT to haul feed or dirt or kids or whatever else you decide needs to be moved from one place to another. So, the performance may lack a little when it gets loaded down. An easy way to get that fixed is the golf car 4-Cycle Torque Kit we have available. This package will come with a driven or secondary clutch and a new belt, because folks, you don't replace your pulley and not your belt. We don't care how good it looks, it's silly not to run a new one, and that's why a belt comes in this kit.

The Clutch included is a performance 28-degree pulley that will achieve quicker starts and a higher torque rate. The aftermarket belt that gets paired along with it is incredibly heavy-duty compared to the OEM it replaces, so it can stand up to the increased level of performance you demand. Get it booked with Buggies Unlimited.

Installed with no problems. It increased the torque but slowed the EZGO down, so I made adjustments to the governor to get the speed back.

Definitely what I needed. I have a 2002 ezgo with 22” tires. Now I can go up steep hills and not have to worry about momentum to get up them.

Did not make the expected difference from factory clutch
With my 98 ez go txt, it barely made a diff from the factory clutch. Looks good and works as good as the factory.

Well constructed and easy install
It made my 02 ezgo txt ride smoother and also helped on steep hills as well. I recommend the 28 degree torque kit for those that may want a smoother ride with some pulling power.

It's Working But Belt Appears Loose
Our EZGO Cart (4-stroke, twin cylinder, Robins Engine) was having problems climbing hills so purchased the TXT 4-Cycle Torque Kit with 28 degree clutch & Severe Duty Belt. The old belt (27077G02) was tight and had to be rolled off the secondary clutch pulley - the clutch came off easily and the new clutch bolted right on. The new severe duty belt(72328G01) slipped right over the new clutch (no roll-on required) and appeared loose. i called Buggiies Unlimited Technical Support regarding the length of the new belt measuring 42" x 1 1/4" and the old belt measuring 40.75" x 1 3/16" was told it is the correct belt and to drive the cart to see if it works - well it works and able to climb hills but still a little nervous with the loose fit.

With this clutch is there a need to update the spring or does it come with a stronger spring already built in?

The clutch should come set up to provide the advertised Performa gains. Personally I generally modify everything I purchase to enhance the end result.

1995 EZGO with Robins 2 cylinder, 4 stroke engine - I replaced my old clutch with the 4-Cycle Torque Kit - Buggies Unlimited item 6258 - all went well, but the new, severe duty, belt seems a loose? The old 27077-G02 had to be rolled on or off - the new severe duty belt, slides right over the primary & secondary clutch without moving the pulley or stretching the belt. When laying one belt over the other - the severe duty looks to be longer. Would of sent photos but could not find a way to attach to "Questions & Answers"
Thanks in advance

Hi Will, Please give our tech support team a call at 1-888-444-9994. They can provide the help needed to complete your installation.

This gives you lower end torque but does it reduce top speed?

i am being completely honest. i did not notice any additional low end torque or notice a reduction in top speed. Ezgo workhorse with stock vanguard 23 twin. With jakes long travel and 23 inch tires. take offs are smooth and powerful enough and it goes fast enough (no speedometer prob around 25) which was fine for me. my old driven clutch was sticky, getting wobbly, and about to break

2017 cushman hauler need upgrade clutch 6 inch lift 22by11by10 tires what clutch kit do I need?

I am not going to carry a clutch for a 2017 Cushman Hauler. I would reccomend contacting Cushman directly.

will this fit on an ezgo express l6?

As long as it has the twin cylinder (two spark plugs) engine!

2006 driven clutch and belt ? Carts slow up hills with 2 28 or one ?
What's the difference between this kit (item 6258) and the high-torque clutch (item 6259) other than the kit includes a belt? Does the belt cost $200?
