Product Details

Caddies have one significant drawback for after-market steering wheels or even the stock unit. You have to use a Floor Mount Horn Button. There is no way to hook up a horn to the steering wheel itself. On a car, your steering wheel is mounted to a floating column. It uses a metal plate at the base that is a part of the mounting system. This corresponds with another plate on the steering column that will allow an electrical signal to pass through.

None of this exists on your buggy, so there is no way to hook up a horn to your steering wheel. If you try, all the wiring will get wrapped around the column, and then your slightest problem will be the horn not working. Get a horn button installed on your golf cart so you can have the luxury of a horn right at the tip of your toes. All you need to do at this point is call Buggies Unlimited and get your golf cart floor-mounted horn button ordered.

Extremely satisfied with this product!
Solidly built (made of metal) momentary horn button. I use it to run a vintage fire engine rotary type siren. The depth of the switch is easily adjustable to account for the thickness of floor mat material that's on your cart. This is the second one I've purchased. The first one lasted approximately 11 years in the Florida Sunshine and weather. I keep my cart outside and mostly uncovered, so I'm EXTREMELY satisfied that the soft rubber cover portion of the switch lasted as long as it did. Took me maybe 5 minutes to swap out the old one for the new one. It has two small nuts (with washers) to attach inline with your positive horn wire. When you push the button, it completes the circuit and allows power to travel to your horn while the button is held depressed.

Works great so far on my 94 ezgo. Previous button had soldered wire connections that rusted and broke. Hoping the bolts on this button will last longer.

1 Question
I have a 48v battery system. Do I hook up the horn directly to two of the 8v batteries?

Hello , you are going to need a voltage reducer in a 48 volt system unless the batteries are each 12 volts. Then you can hook directly to one battery. Hope this helps
