The Club Car DS and Precedent Fuel Pump is the best of the best for the fuel supply to the carb. We have heard from several customers that they have been advised to use an electric fuel pump because the OEM ones are no good. Let us shed some light on that myth. The stock pumps are a diaphragm-based unit that works off of crankcase compression. The crankcase creates an in-out pressure that varies between one and three pounds. This allows the pump to draw fuel from the tank and then shoot it up to the carb.
This is uniquely perfect for the way that carts run. As you are well aware, when you let off the pedal, the system shuts off. Now let's say you have an electric golf cart fuel pump. What happens when you let off the pedal, and the engine dies, but you forgot to turn the key switch off? Not something you ever had to worry about before but now that the fuel pump draws power from the switch, if you neglect to turn it off, it will flood the carb and pump all of your gas out onto the ground. not at all i put one on my cart was easy just put it on the right way u be fine
Check the vacuum line to the pump an the pickup tube from the tank for air leaks, if no problems it would be the pump, it would be a good PM practice to replace the pump anyway
Hi, the cheap stuff is ok, the machine would be happier without ethanol if it is going to spend alot of time not being used. if you are going to use it often and not let the gas age it will burn the cheap stuff. ethanol helps to pull moisture from the air and creates a water problem. seldom used equipment should use ethanol free fuel to eliminate carb. problems.
The left (crooked hose) goes to the fuel tank. The middle hose goes to the engine vacuum. The right hose goes to the carb.
Had the same problem. I added a small electric fuel pump after the pulse pump. Just a small one you get at the auto parts store. Wired it to the headlight switch. Solved my problems. Hope this helps.
They way u take it off with hoses just put back the same why
I would visually check the amount of fuel is passing through filter when starting.. new filter and fuel pump mine goes like new.
The the needle and seat in the carb could be faulty/leaking causing fuel to seep into the intake when the engine isn’t running.
Check your vacuum line usually have a fuel pump is bad it makes no difference cold or hot
The float in the carb is probably stuck open, remove carb and take bowl off and clean everything with carb cleaner or buy a new carb.
