Product Details

The Single Pole Double Throw Contactor from Buggies Unlimited comes in a kit (*sold separately) that can make your life a lot easier. If you have an older series-powered golf cart, we have got the deal of the century for you. You will no longer need to get out of the caddie to shift from forward to reverse. You know what we mean. But, over time, it will get harder and harder. This is due to the normal shifting motion and the golf cart part's susceptibility to heat. However, things can get quite warm between where we locate it and what it does.

This golf cart contactor comes in a kit that replaces that old-style piece of junk. The OEM has a design that has worked for a long time. However, now there is a solution on the market that takes the manpower out of it. We mean flopping the polarity at the motor, of course. The kit that this relay comes in replaces the copper contacted shifter with a solenoid. Now you use a little toggle switch to activate this contactor, and the shifting becomes just a push of the button. Stop paying the kid down the street to shift for you.

The installation of this item is not a hard thing to do. As mentioned previously, it comes as part of a kit. The package will come with step-by-step instructions and a diagram that will allow you to take all of the guesswork out of things. There is no better feeling than looking like an expert in front of your friends. We know just the items to make that a regular occurrence.

Buggies Unlimited has everything you need for your golf cart. All you need to do is call and talk to an expert about whatever is ailing your caddie. So call us today and see the difference.

Great product
This upgrade was exactly what I was looking for. This was super easy to do with the help of tech services. This is so much easier to us than the handle. Would recommend this mod for all!

I installed the switch with help from the tech support but I have lost at least 30% power any ideas?

I am battling the same issue anyone else have this issue Ive lost all my power from upgrades to controller and batteries and also lost range

How does it operate?

This is used to replace a mechanical fnr switch. so a switch will swap the two contacts internally to flop polarity at the motor.

Is there a video showing how to install the Curtis Albright 400 on an ergo txt?

I never used video I installed with istruciones they got in box and work real good

What else will I need to purchase from you to do a conversion on a 95 txt medalist? Cheers

I’m sorry but I’m not familiar with the model that you are wanting to convert. I used this contactor on a club car. Mine had a handle shifter for F/R. If used like I did for the club car you only need the contactor,On/off/On toggle switch, some short wires, and wire terminals.

Just got the Curtis/Albright 400 amp single pole double throw contactor and didn't have any instructions for replacing the manual f/r switch. Does anybody have wiring diagram ?

It should have came with one in the box. If not contact buggies unlimited tech support and they will send you one through your email.

Do you recommend using this part in place of the older manual style F/R, if you already need to replace the F/R switch? I haven't upgraded the controller or anything else.

I haven’t replaced it yet but I am in February. If you would like to contact me then I will let you know the answer then. Sorry and have a Merry Christmas

What else will I need to go with this conversion? Do I need wiring and a push button switch

All the large cables from tha batteries and motor should be long enough. Just choose your mounting of your part accordingly. You will need 12 awg stranded wire to make new wires for the toggle switch. Toggle switch will need to be on/off/on with a weather proof cover that screws over the toggle stem. Various connectors. Some will need to connect to the buggies factory wiring and some will be needed to make new connections. The reverse buzzer will have to be left unwired unless a relay is put in line with a 36 or 48 volt coil if memory serves me right. Hope this is helpful.

Is it difficult to convert to this switch part 5091 ?

No! comes with instructions and is very easy to install. If you run into trouble, call us! We have installed several!

I just received this part and it says 48 volt will it work on a 36 volt cart. The spec's say so?

Ken it will work on 36 or 48 volt carts

What size  diodes do you use for this ?
