Cart Subtotal:
There are two major Anderson Charger Plugs for various models you will run into in the golf cart world. This one is the smaller SB50 size. They are typically used on older caddie chargers and in many repair jobs on new and old ones alike. Rarely will you run into the SB175. This was very sparsely used in the buggy world. More often than not, these were connectors for chargers and other things for forklifts. An excellent way to tell which one you need is the SB50 will fit in the palm of your hand, hell three or four would. The SB175 covers the entire palm of your hand and most of your fingers.
This golf cart charger plug is effortless to install; all you will need is a screwdriver. You can easily do this on the bench in your garage, and there is no need to waste money on an install fee at a dealer. Call Buggies Unlimited today and have it shipped to your door.
Yes, in the sense that you could make an extension cord for your charger to cart connections; use two of these plugs for the opposite ends of the cord. If the cart's mounting bracket will securely hold the Anderson plug it can be used to replace the cart receptacle. This plug can be used on the cord from the charger as well. Know which cable is positive and which is negative polarity (in most cases red is positive and black is negative) and be double sure to connect the cables to the correct terminal in the plug. The plug is clearly marked positive (+) and negative (-). If you get this wrong, the result could be 'no charge' at all, damage to the cart and batteries, damage to the charger, personal injury, and environmental damage from possible explosion of one or more of the batteries and even fire in the charger itself. Safety features if present on the cart and charger may prevent these mishaps. Yet, be sure. Be positive to positive. If you are not certain you can correctly determine positive and negative connections, get knowledgeable help.
I've replaced many of these plugs on carts and chargers, made many extension cords with them and made adapters to make chargers convenient for Club Car, EZGO and Yamaha electric carts. It is not suggestible to use these plugs to adapt 36 volt to 48 volt systems. I've seen them used only on 36 volt carts and chargers. Substituting these 36 volt plugs for 48 volt systems is sure to be bad news for someone, sooner-or-later.
To provide a complete answer, I must add that I personally have never seen this Anderson plug used by Club Car.
This is a SB50 gray plug and the research I've done online, they are not the same.
