The Club Car Accelerator Cable for DS models is one of those parts that you cannot go without. We mean, we guess you could, but your golf cart wouldn't do anything but idle. So if you only plan to push it downhill and listen to it putter, you can skip this part. For the rest of us who need any speed at all, we understand how vital not only having one of these is but one that's in good condition. If it gets stretched out, and it will over time, you will lose some range of acceleration. Suppose you have noticed that your caddie has been getting slower and slower over time, and you stay on top of your seasonal maintenance. In that case, it may be time to replace this unit.
This golf cart cable is not a hard part to install. Unlike your brake cables, there are no unique tools needed to take them on or off. Give an expert at Buggies Unlimited a call today and ask about a Club Car OEM service manual to go along with this order
Yes if you have the older style motor, and not the overhead valve FE290. This is the cable that goes to the carb. I did have a problem with the one I bought also like the other answer. My issue was the side where it goes into the fuse block. The round "barrel" looking end was a little oversized. I was able to to get it to work though. Hope this helps?
