The Forty-Eight Volt Battery Maintainer from Buggies Unlimited is a product you need if you leave your golf cart. We mean that if you are not with your caddie year-round, the batteries could be at risk. That is a pretty significant investment to let go by the wayside. A good set of those bad boys could run you as much as a thousand dollars or better. The last thing you need is all that cash going out the door because of poor charging habits. Throwing money out the window is something we want to try and help you avoid.
This golf cart battery maintainer is for any wet cell battery setup. The only requirement is the overall voltage needed to use it. Also, this is not a charger. You will need to use your standard unit to charge the batteries before plugging this in. If your batteries are dead and you plug this into them, they will still be finished a week later. If you are looking for a low-cost charger, we can help with that too. Please call one of our experts who can show you a few options. We want to make sure the product you buy fits your needs.
The installation of this golf cart part could not be easier. The only two things you need to have experience in to be qualified for this job are simple. If you know how to put a clip on your potato chips to keep them fresh, You are halfway there. Plugging in a lamp takes you the rest of the way to an expert-level installer.
Buggies Unlimited has everything you need. Call us now for all the hard parts and accessories you want to get installed this weekend. We would be happy to set you up with a project to improve your life.
Thank you for the question Frank, Your batteries are wires in series. This unit hooks up to the series positive and the series negative. The best way to identify what two battery posts to hook this to is to trace the series from start to finish. The first battery in series, positive terminal, is hooked to the solenoid. It is the only positive terminal on a battery that is not wired to the negative of another battery. That's where the red clamp goes. Once you identify that positive terminal, look at the negative on the same battery, you will see that it is wired to the positive of another battery (battery #2). Then the negative of that next battery is wired to the positive of battery #3. This same pattern continues until you reach a negative that is not wired to the positive of another battery. That is system negative. The black clamp goes there.
The water holes should not be filled, just filled enough to cover the plates.
I charge the batteries up with the charger, then remove the charger, attach the maintainer, and leave the maintainer on all summer, on both my carts. works Great !! I also leave the carts in my air conditioned garage while on the maintainer, i beleive that makes a big difference with the florida heat ! Good Luck
I don’t think so. You need to buy one for 36 volt. I am very happy with mine. Had my batteries freeze without it. Expensive mistake!
I have had no problems to date. I'm not in North Texas but it does get hot sometimes where I'm at. My carts sits for months at a time and when I'm ready to use it it's been fully charged. I hope this will help you decide.
Doyle.
it can dry your battery out if you leave it more than 2 months. which could damage the battery. unless distilled water can be added in 2 month,
This is a maintainer for 48 volt carts. It is not designed to charge batteries....it is more designed to maintain a charge on a fully charged set of batteries.
Yes is does!
Thanks for your question. This charger is made by a well known domestic supplier.
