When the conversation turns to the Club Car DS Potentiometer or MCOR, most customers know they are at least talking about the throttle sensor. This acronym stands for motor controller output regulator. It is a small black plastic unit installed below the seat and has linkage coming from under the floorboards. When you press your pedal, a cog is rotated inside this unit, which creates a change in resistance. At rest, this sensor sends out five thousand ohms to the controller to indicate no throttle is being applied. As you press the gas pedal, the resistance starts to drop. When you are at full throttle, the resistance is zero. As his unit gets older, it can give an inaccurate range, like seven thousand to two thousand. Your caddie will have a dead portion of the throttle and not achieve full speed if that happens.
This golf cart MCOR is for the DS models. If your Club Car MCOR is not located under your seat, you may have a newer model. The Precedent has an accelerator pedal sub-assembly that houses this unit. If yours is like this, please give Buggies Unlimited a call for the right product.
scott if your cart has an mcor already then this will be a replacement. being a 96 it should be a v glide from factory unless it been upgraded
The shaft from the gas pedal to the MCOR needs to be removed and twisted clockwise a little at a time and will be like new. Make sure the back wheels are off the ground in case you twist it to much
This is a throttle sensor. Take a look at the Navitas controller systems for the Club Car DS models. We carry a 440 and a 600 amp!
I have a jerky accelerator also, replaced the speed sensor , MCOR 4 and reprogrammed the Controller (ALTRAX) and worked with it for a month. THE accelerator is still not right, NOT SMOOTH.
Still working issue, may be peddle motion grinding or some other incompatibility in my configuration. Hope this helps.
My cart started with the same problems. Press the accelerated it may go it may not, may go a short distance or go until I stopped it. Kept getting worst until it wouldn't work at all. Replaced the potentiometer and that fixed it. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
This would not work for the carryall 2 2009.
If you locate your serial number usually located below dashboard, the first 5 digits will tell you. For instance my cart reads A0035. A is the model cart-00 is the year 2000-and 35 is the week of manufacture. You can go on the club car website and type in this info and it will tell you exactly what cart you have.
