The E-Z-GO PDS Freedom Speed Chip is one of three that EZGO has for the PDS cart. Each will give your golf cart a different level of performance. Some allow you to climb hills, others allow for the towing of heavy materials, but this bad boy is all about the need for speed. Now this will only work for the PDS EZGO systems that are 36 volts from the factory.
A few easy ways you can identify that this is a PDS system are getting the serial number and giving us a call. We will run it through EZGO's database and tell you exactly what it is. If the serial number plate is missing, answering the following few questions will fill the gap. You must have a dash-mounted, toggle style-forward, and reverse switch. Another dead giveaway is the run and tow switch that is under the seat. You can order the golf cart freedom chip from Buggies Unlimited today if you have both of these items.
Wont fit on the stock series motor/contoller. Fits PDS Stock contoller ONLY..
Makes a big difference on top-end, especially on lifted/tall tire carts.
Fun. Fun..
depend on the style of controller you have in the cart can you supply a part number on your controller
The 48v EZGO's use a 1268 model Curtis. This only works with the Curtis 1206M PDS controllers.
This chip does not create any additional amp draw on the controller. All its doing is activating a different speed program. Same amount of power gets used, you just use it differently when this chip is plugged in.
Lift up seat and on right side of battery’s there is a black box take them cover off four screws then on right side of controls there is a blank chip take it out put the new in and you are ready to go makes cart a lot faster
it should but not 100 % on that model, would reach out to the manufacturer, hope this helps
No risks, just uses the power a little differently... hang on tight and buckle up!
Why did Buggiesunlimited sen me this ???
They should be the information source for ALL the products they offer.
I bought one for my 2018 48 volt and it would not work because the manufacturer has a special code that keeps someone not certified from doing themselves.
Hi Chris, yes just switch the controler to tow mode and remove the controler housing. Remove whatever plug that’s all ready installed and plug the freedom chip (plug) into its place. Reinstall the controller housing, switch it back to run. Have fun. Btw they call it a chip but it’s really just a jumper wire on a blade type plug like a fuse.
