Cart Subtotal:
Out of all the things on your cart to get gunked up, it seems that the Club Car DS and Precedent Carburetor always need a bath. There are only so many times you can clean that thing before something internally fails. Maybe not from the cleaning, but more the abuse it takes while it is on the caddie. These things are notoriously sensitive to ethanol. Which is in just about all the gas you buy these days. If you happen to have a gas station with the magic blue pumps, that's ethanol-free gas. That is the best fuel you can use in a lawnmower, golf cart, or any small engine.
Ethanol is the worst enemy of an aftermarket machine. It leaves a nasty residue behind we lovingly refer to as gunk. If left to sit in the vehicle during its nonuse periods, it can cause all kinds of issues. It will eat through fuel lines, destroy the diaphragm in the fuel pump and damage the golf cart carburetor beyond repair. Call Buggies Unlimited, and get a new one coming today.
Just let the tube hang down-it is just a drain tube for the bowl-won’t hurt a thing
Mark yes this carb will still work as long as the year range is correct for your cart
No. I had to order 2 gaskets separately.
Yes this carb will com with the gaskets.
The 97 DS has a 290cc engine, unless it was custom made, the engine has it stamped on the back side of engine at the bottom. If you care to dig into the serial no. it will tell you. You can purchase a fuel pump for it, almost all of these engines take a standard type fuel pump. The serial no. does not tell you about the fuel pump.
This carb worked fine on my 2006 Club Car. There are no adjustment "stops" on the needle valve so I open mine one turn counter clockwise and it runs good. Good value on the cost for the new carb. Good luck.

Hi Mr Nelson how are you doing, yes it works
Place shifter neutral in rotor on backside in maintenance position. Start engine and move throttle directly on carburetor and see if speed increases. Accelerator pedal has cable that connects to governor arm on top of transmission. Which you can easily see by removing rear cover. Governor then has cable that connects to carburetor. Either cable may be broke or disconnected. Be sure return springs are attached.
If your gas cart is within the years stated, it will work, but some aftermarket carburetors just do not give you the same performance as oem. Make sure all of your adjustments are correct
