Cart Subtotal:
There were two predecessors to the current DC system that Club Car uses today. These were the REGEN1 and the REGEN2 drives. This stood for regenerative capability. This means they are capable of, upon deceleration, a slight recharge of the battery. This was an exciting concept of the golf cart world as it meant longer run times. These two models were only produced for less than five years and were stepping stones to the new IQ system. This, unfortunately, means that there is hardly anything for them in the way of replacement parts or upgrades. Until the original Cart Doctor, good old Roger K. developed the Club Car Regen to IQ Conversion Harness that allowed them to be updated. Now you can get replacement controllers and even upgrades that are plug and play.
This golf cart harness comes with step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow. We do recommend having a buddy there to help, and the second set of eyes never hurts. Plus, you are working with a good amount of amperage, safety in numbers, right? Call Buggies Unlimited and get set up today.
I think the harness will depend on what controller you are using. If you are using the original speed control then the harness may not be the right one. I would recommend taking a look at the controller and go back and match the controller to the proper harness. I used this harness because I changed controllers and the old harness did not match.
it does... however you will need to verify wires because the colors do not match up with the controllers colors on their schematic. other than that it works great.
the entire harness needs to be used. It replaces almost all the wiring in the cart, as some components are wired differently to complete the conversion. it looks intimidating, but comes with great instructions, pictures , and super phone support from some very smart techs. I recently converted my 96 club car, and it took longer to get the body off, than it did to change the wire harness.
All these questions can be answered from the tech support people at Buggies U. They can e-mail you directions as well as walk you through step by step installation or troubleshooting, I recently upgraded my 97 DS to the new controller and harness, and had the same problem , no wiring instructions, Gave them a call and they fixed it, works well
This would not be something you would need if you bought the Navitus motor and controller kit.
I have the rocker switch mounted in front of the seat, I did not change it , plugged right in
