Cart Subtotal:
Picture this, you are at the local music festival, and per usual, everyone with a golf cart has circled up and is comparing their bells and whistles with each other. The conversation always ends up on "whose cart is the fastest?" We want to help you answer that question with a resounding "me," and boy, oh boy, do we have what you need to make that happen. The Speed Motor Replacement for your 36 or 48-volt Club Car is identical to the one that came on the golf cart except for performance. You are going to install it the exact way the stock one comes off.
You will notice a significant change when you drive the golf cart the first time. 3.5 horsepower at 36 volts but a killer 4.7 horsepower at 48 volts. You are making this a big-time increase over the OEM motor that comes stock on your Club Car. Call Buggies Unlimited today, and make sure you get what you need to blow those other campers off the trail.
Your question is lacking detail so my answer must be taken with a grain of salt. This motor did well in my application, I got improved speed and acceleration. But I have also maintained my wires and updated my controller. Assuming that you have done the same and this change is replacing a 20 year old motor, yes, you will be very pleased.
Yes. I was very pleased with mine. Extra power. No mechanical issues. But I did have to fuss with the wiring.
It should fit. Check to make sure you have a 10 spline motor. Also.
Must be used on cars with a solid state controller.
This is a very fast motor when installed in a 48 v cart
Not sure about the #. We replaced the original motor on a 1997 DS 48 volt and it fit perfectly. Also had to install a controller (Navitas 440 AMP), Motor is powerful and made the cart jump on take off so added the "on The Fly " programmer for smoother acceleration. Cart is much faster with this motor.
The 997 would work great.

This should fit the 2003 48v Clube Car DS.
I got one of these for a 48 v 2002 Club Car DS and it works perfectly. Would recommend it no worries
