How can you test a 7-pin lgnitor for a g8 golf cart?

Tina, what the ignitor does is put a hotter spark into the coil. Check and see if you're getting fire to the spark plug if you are it's probably not the ignitor . I would have to have more info on what the cart is not doing. Very well could be the carburetor esp. if it's and after market carb.

G8 Cart slow to fire but starts. Is it a igniter issue?

Yes it could be i had a similar problem and also had hardly any pic-up on hills or flat ground

I need a replacement ignitor for a Yamaha Golf cart a G2-A, 1990 , series J55.  I also know the original ignitor J38-82305-20-00, 7 pin design but socket connection is different, is obsolete. Will a JF2-82305-00 ignitor 7 pin function correctly if I modify the socket connection to connect to my original wire harness design?

I have the same question . Does anyone have an answer for this?

Spark intermittent at low idle. High speed is smooth and fast I watched spark At off idle the spark is intermittent causing the miss and jerky starts and stops ?

Not sure I can diagnose the problem but will give it a shot. First make sure you have a good spark plug. Next grab the plug wire while running. If you get a tingle it could be bad. Doubtful though. Next make sure your battery is good. Low voltage at idle could cause no spark. Next comes the ignitor. That one is costly but may need replacing. I'm thinking ignitor is the problem. Not much way to test it that I know of. Hope this helps. Sorry I can't be more specific. Good luck.

I have a Yamaha g2 to g5 it runs but pops sometimes and sometimes it picks up and gos?

my problem was intermittent some times it would run just fine never backfired but sometimes there was no spark installed the igniter and worked fine after that
