Cart Subtotal:
Recharging a battery may sound like a simple job, but on your golf cart, several parts play a role in accomplishing that task. First off, the battery is responsible for starting the carriage and running everything that uses electricity. As you can imagine, the charge is going to drop pretty quickly. This is not like your older trucks that can start up and then have the battery removed and keep running. If that happens, you have a severe grounding issue, and you should call one of our tech support reps. The starter puts out almost 20 volts. That is too much for your battery. This is where the Voltage Regulator for Yamahas comes into play. It drops the voltage down to a useable 13-15 volts.
This golf cart regulator is easy to install. This model is held down by one screw and has one plug that just pops right in place. This will take you more time to unwrap that to install. Give Buggies Unlimited a call and get it coming.
I found with my cart that it required a new solenoid but my cart needed one that was a g50 solved problem
Doubt it’s an electrical issue if it starts...carb could still be issue. Would check all gaskets and fuel lines plus look for possible damage to carb; could be cracked seal . If fuel getting to carb, check to see if its filling bowl.
I thought the same thing with mine on the charging?
So I replaced the voltage regulator & it didn’t make any
Difference. But I don’t think mine was that high of voltage? It was I think in the 15-16v range.
Maybe make sure your grounds are good?
I left the system alone at it’s higher than normal charging & so far everything is working - the faster the engine spins, the higher the voltage went.
Hot engine with hot carberator can cause issues with fuel flow?
There is a plug in fitting. If you need help wiring it then call 888.444.9994 and speak to our technical support team at extension # 3. They are here M-F from 8-5 EST
Where can get the right one
Check to make sure you have spark at the spark plug. If it will only run on starting fluid then the electrical system should be working. It seems the carb is not providing fuel to run on. Maybe a complete disassembly and carb kit is in order. You're better off just replacing the carb if you can't find a rebuild kit.
