There is no better upgrade than the EZGO Marathon High-Speed Motor-Controller Kit. We have several on the shelf that would be compatible with your Marathon since your eye gravitated right to the go-fast department. We can't blame you; we firmly believe the need for speed lives in us all. We were tired of seeing all these kits for the newer golf carts and no love for the vintage models. Thus the Marathon performance package was born. Now we can take that antique and make it a sleeper like no other. The first time you pull up on a brand new EZGO and blow his doors off, he's going to be trailing you till you decide to stop and tell him where you got the stuff to make your golf cart fly.
With the high-Speed conversion kit, you will get a six-horsepower motor and a 500 amp controller. You will also get a weld cable set that comes in four-gauge and a heavy-duty solenoid. You may want to also consider upgrading your forward reverse switch with a heavier one as well. Give us a call here at Buggies Unlimited, and we will get you set up right.
33013 is going to give you the maximum torque! Even though ts recommended for lifted cars, this kit will work great for a non-lifted, it will just produce more torque! We have several customers that install the 33013 on stock golf carts and then use it to pull their boat or camper or work trailer! The possibilities are endless!
I put this conversion kit in my '93 EZ GO Marathon 36v cart (not lifted). It is not recommended in a lifted cart because it really increases (almost doubles) the speed! In a lifted cart, with that much speed, you have a high risk of rollover. That's the danger & why it's NOT recommended.
Hello, with the right setup, almost anything could be done. You would need to have enough power to support the size of the side by side. But this would be a full custom build and would require a full electrical system based on a factory harness, so that's where you would need to start.
Only if you have a controller in your cart now, and not the resistor coils.
I have 91 Marathon with a 3” lift and 20” tires and have had the kit installed for over a year and a half with no issues. There are no modifications needed to mount the kit.
I have a '91 Marathon with a 3" lift (planning on going to 6") and 20" tires and it works with no issues. You will need to realize that it will be more prone to tipping then a standard height cart though.
