Product Details

Everything in life feels like a competition these days. There are so many options that it would almost be foolish not to weigh what you are getting against another company's version. There is not to say that you won't get burned in the process if you try to go too cheap. Remember, an apples to oranges comparison has to be taken at face value. These EZGO Forward Reverse Switches are copper contacted with buss bars of the same material to transfer the power. If inferior products are used to drive down the cost, the product's lifetime will suffer greatly. Shopping with us means you get a quality product every time.

This golf cart switch is an exact replica of the OEM unit; you will hook up the main EZGO cables and the micro switches wire for wire. There are no curveballs or anything of the sort. Call Buggies Unlimited and verify you are getting the correct product so you can fix it right the first time.

1990 EZGO 2-cycle golf cart forward /reverse switch.
I used this on a 1990 EZGO Marathon 2-cycle golf cart. Works Great but had to remove the backup beeper as it was larger than the original and would not fit in the original space.
One recommendation is that before you remove the old switch from the golf cart, take several pictures of the cables and where they connect. In addition I'd recommend you use painters tape or duct tape on each cable and use a sharpie to label each cable and each bolt/stud connector (A-to-A, B-B, C-C, D-D, etc). Once you take the old switch out, use the marking of the old switch as a reference to mark each of the New Switch's bolts/studs making sure you have them both oriented correctly (45° cuts at top for both old & new). This will make it much easier when you wire it back and you will have reference where each wire goes which can get confusing. I didn't do this and ALMOST regretted it but luckily I realized I had it oriented wrong.
One other item to note is that the nuts that hold the switches were loose when I took it out of the box. Once tightened and installed, one of the two microswitches had to be adjusted as it did not work switch when changing from forward to reverse (or vice versa) at the original factory setting.

Hello I have an 1989 EZ Go 3 wheel gas cart. The thing still runs great, but has stopped going into reverse today. I know it is the contacts on the switch, but want to make sure I don't order the wrong switch. Also, I never knew it was supposed to have a paper air filter until I found the owners manual during a Internet search. Can you tell me how to make sure I order the correct one?

Thanks

If you have an 89 2 cycle this is the monster you need!

I have a EZ-Go Medalist sn# 928669 and I need a New F&R switch I ordered 5070 and it does not LOOK at all like MINE what switch do I NEED?

Gene this is a dcs cart i do not have an assembly for that cart. most often you just have to replace the small switches which i do carry

I have an 88 Ez go Marathon will go in reverse for about 3 feet then just spins. I am guessing the Forward reverse switch is the problem. When I pull it apart there are 2 pieces Is both pieces included in this? (Stationary and Rotating)

Both pieces are included in my switch I ordered it comes fully assembled exept wiringEnter

I have a EZGO Legacy what forward/reverse switch would I need?
  It is electric.

I would go with buggies suggestion !! They got it right for me !!

Does anyone have a wire diagram for a forward & reverse Assembly unit for a 1991 marathon Ezgo?

Mine was a 1988 ez go 2 cycle and the forward and reverse switch that I purchased had to be modified to make it work. I had to drill new holes to make it fit but everything works great now. Sorry I don’t have any wire diagram to help you.

I tried to replace the assembly, by just hooking the wires on old assembly to the new assembly. On my onld assembly there is a small circle with a red and black wire going in the new assembly does not have this. Is there any directions for this?

I believe the circle you are talking about is the back up buzzer. It may need to be taken off the old one and installed on the new switch

I have a ezgo 1989 electric as  I’m going in forward it goes in to reverse just anytime what wrong ?

Sounds to me they need a new switch I replaced mine because it wouldn't go into reverse

I have a 1990 E-Z-GO won't go forward or reverse I know it the switch will this work for me ?

Yes that should be rite that the same one I put on mine

Will this fit a 1989 Melex 212 ?

It may not be an exact fit but if you know anything about about mechanical or electrical it should be no problem to install it remember I'm no expert I just purchased one and made some alterations and no it works just fine on my E-Z-Go they are pretty generic when you look at them best of luck

I tried to replace this assembly but, my cart 88 Marathon's old assembly has i small circle on the back with a red and black wire going in to it. The red wire was hooked to one of the switches and the black goes until i loose it in my wiring? On the new assembly there is a solenoid with a red wire from it to the switch. I have left the red and black connected to old assembly which the red hooks to new assembly. Is there any directions or can someone tell me what I need to do, now it won't go forward or reverse?

I emailed you a diagram, give us a call if you cannot get it running.
