Product Details

Down here in Florida, food is a huge deal. We take our cooking seriously. There is no room for cutting things out or decreasing portions. Everything is bigger in the south because of the diet we are on. A great example of how we like to do things in the kitchen is the process of reduction. Do you know what this means? Webster says it's the act of making something smaller. In southern cooking, it means thicken or intensify a specific liquid's flavor, like a BBQ sauce. Quite the opposite of the definition. When it comes to your golf cart, the EZGO Marathon Steering Reduction Gear is just a moving connector between two parts. Three completely different meanings of the same word.

This golf cart gear is a part of the steering system. It is not hard to replace, but having a set of helping hands is almost a must. Outside of that, all you are going to need is a basic set of tools. Give Buggies Unlimited a call today.

Play in steering,how to fix?

Hi Lester, Sean had some good recommendations for you. Also, feel free to call our technicians for more in-depth information on your steering problems.

Can I get a complete steering box for a 1982 tex?

Any luck..im looking for one also

is this two separate gears?

No it's made together. Be sure this is your problem because after installing mine I still had the same problem. Turns out my steering shaft has broken teeth and it expensive.

I need to improve play in steering in a 1991 Marathon EZGO gas golf cart. What do I need to correct steering play?

I had a bunch of problems with my Marathon's steering, and the reduction gear was only one part of the solution. I had to replace the housing because one of the pins was loose, and the gear at the end of the steering shaft was very worn, the reduction gear was cracked, and all three ball joints were worn. Even after all that work, plus alignment, the steering wasn't great; still had significant play (like 10 degrees on the wheel). I think Marathon's just aren't that great in the steering department. If I were going to do it again, I'd just transplant a more modern rack and steering box, without the reduction gear.
