What once was a complicated thing now becomes a simple task. This seems to be true of a lot of things in our lives these days. The Reliance HD Starter Generator - For Yamaha is no different. These motors used to be universal. Then you had to play a guessing game to figure out which cable went where because nothing came with a diagram, and more than likely, you were going to have to cut and hardwire to get it done. Not anymore, Yamaha made it plug and play, and this aftermarket replacement is a match to the OEM product. Buggies Unlimited kept right with that line of thinking.
This unit fits the G16 models up to the Drive. The pulley is included with this motor, which if you have ever tried to swap one, you'll know why this is such a nice thing to have pre-mounted. The bolt pattern will line right up; no drilling is needed. The best part about this unit is the quick connection for the smaller wires. Buggies Unlimited kept the factory design so everything would be plug and play. Get a Reliance HD Starter Generator shipped to you today.
if it has same color wires just cut plugs off add your own connectors and you are set that's what I did ( I made 2 jumper wires before I cut plugs off to make sure it charged 1st )
With the cart in neutral and the motor going about half throttle Isee from 15to 15.4 volts using a meter. When my regulator went bad I was getting 18 volts and it fried my battery.
There’s a few wires that come from the starter- charger - most or all of them go to the battery and I believe the other go off of the foot pedal. It’s a charging- starter system - Like when you push the foot pedal it starts the motor. Most of it is plug and play . Not all connections will plug right up but most do . -
I would imagine they're pretty standard metric bolts you could get at your local hardware store or bomgaars.
They are new as far as I know. I have purchased two over the years and seem to be new and not rebuilt.
