Installation Procedures for Electrical Accessories

Our 12-volt accessories will work on any 12, 24, 36 and 48-volt systems. Each accessory item will have a wiring schematic supplied. For the following units you will use:

  • 12-VOLT GAS CARTS= Use a frame ground system by wiring direct to the battery and/or solenoid.

  • 24 AND 36-VOLT CARTS = Use an isolated negative system. NO FRAME GROUND! In most cases you will use two, 6-volt batteries to create the 12 volts required to operate the accessory. Close attention must be made to which two batteries you use. In each kit, a battery schematic is supplied.

  • 48-VOLT CARTS = Use an isolated negative system. NO FRAME GROUND! In most cases you will use two, 8-volt batteries to create a 16 volt circuit. Close attention must be made to which two batteries you use. In each kit a battery schematic is supplied. It is the Cart Doctors advice to use a 16 to 12 volt reducer (ELE UNV 434) to protect the lights. A 48 to 12 volt converter (ELE UNV 101) is a better choice as it uses the entire battery pack.
