i have a yamaha model g29 and i hear intermittent clicking sound. Occasionally the cart won't run and I turn the tow switch on and off to get it running again. Is this an indication of a bad tow switch or a bad solenoid?

BEST ANSWER: I had the same problem you are having , I change all the little stuff first , But after changing the controller my clicking stop and thee intermitten stoppage quit . talk to these guys in support they are very helpful .
I have a yamaha drive and sometimes when I put it in reverse, it stills goes forward. Then today, it was going forward and stopped. Now can't get it to do either. I have put a new rocker switch in but no help. Is this solenoid or controller?
Mike L on Aug 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don’t know a lot about Yamaha. The controller does control forward and reverse. I would check the wires from the controller to drive motor it has labels for forward and reverse to make sure they are in the correct locations.
My golf cart had a severe electric short. The solenoid has voltage on one side but not the other. Is the solenoid bad?
e J on Apr 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: i am not an expert, but the solenoid will only have voltage pass through it when it gets a signal from another source i believe, the small terminals. i would not replace until further investigation. check signal at the pedal. though the solenoid is the cheapest part to replace, good luck.
I have a G29 electric cart that seems to get pulsated reverse signals and causes a wobble when driving( like having a bulge in a tire. Changed F/R switch but issue remains. Can walk it forward and feels as if it brakes and releases every2 ft. Doesnt di ot in tow. Thoughts?
Eric H on Apr 14, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I'll bet you have a hotspot in that motor so unhook it from the electrical system and jump it directly in the cart and see if it surges like it does when you're driving if it does is that motor you buy past everything else
when I put switch from tow to run I hear two clicks its a g29 new batts push peddle an nothing batts are wired correct?
Randy K on Oct 27, 2019
BEST ANSWER: When my batteries get low mine will do the same thing. After the second click I can switch the ignition switch to the off position and then back on. The cart will then run, Don't know if this helps.
