Will this work with TXT48? 8 volt batteries
Jorge Ruiz on Nov 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes. The ignition switch is used to create interference in the wire circuit that provides current to a solenoid or relay or more switches on the cart. It is a security measure against theft of the cart. On electric carts all that is required to enable the start of the motor is completion of that circuit. A toggle switch would do the same thing but it is mistaken to use a toggle switch for this purpose. A tpgg;e switch used in place of a keyed ignition switch makes the cart to easy to run-off-with, so to speake. Unless you buy an ignition switch with a diode in it, the two terminal switch will work fine with no regard for polarity. This is to say you can connect the wires to the switch with no concern for which wire goes to which terminal. You can't get it wrong. This does not necessarily hold true for gasoline carts.
Will this work with a 36 volt too?

BEST ANSWER: Used this on a 48 volt CC. Worked fine; Voltage isn't critical as long it's reasonable.
Sorry I’m new to Golf Carts. How do I test to see if the key is the issue. I was able to Jim the large positive side to the small positive side on the solenoid and got a response. Just don’t have a clue where to go next? 2004 TXT EZGO

BEST ANSWER: I emailed you a power flow diagram.

A little too universal (generic)
Made it work on my old EZGO, but it didn't have the right 'keying' for the plate it goes in (it is round and missed the flat part to keep from rotating in the hole).

Also it had screw terminals on it when the cart had spade terminals originally.

Would've preferred one that was more identical - but in the end it did work.

Nice security to have
I like the unique key benefit but installing would have been easier by using the same easy connectors found on all normal ezgo switches. I had to cut them to screw on the back of this which was not ideal.
