I have an early 1980's ezgo golf cart and we think the clutch is missing a keeper for the "clutch fingers", we bought it as is and it had always had the problem. the finger have a hole in them so it would seem there should be a keeper for them?

BEST ANSWER: I did replace the pads in the driven clutch and there was a socket head screw (bolt) holding them in place
what do the ramp buttons do? How hard to install them?
john s on May 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The ramp buttons act as a type of bushing between the spring seat and inner sheave of the clutch. When they wear out they will cause the golf cart to loose its low end torque. Hold each half of the clutch and try to wiggle them sideways. They should be firm and move very little. If they wiggle, the plastic ramp buttons will more than likely show wear and will need to be replaced.
